Trauma Therapy (Somatic Experiencing)
Trauma Therapy: Somatic Experiencing in Primrose Hill, London & Online
The body remembers what the mind tries to forget. Somatic Experiencing offers a gentle, physiologically-based route through trauma — working directly with your nervous system so you can move through hard experiences without having to narrate every detail.
I work with Somatic Experiencing both in person in Primrose Hill, London, and online with clients throughout the UK, helping people navigate trauma, ongoing stress, anxiety, and the residue of difficult life events.
What is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-centred method created by Dr Peter Levine, rooted in the idea that trauma responses come from a nervous system that's lost its regulation — not from any personal failing or weakness. Instead of concentrating mainly on narrating events, SE tunes into physical sensation, gradually easing held tension and rebuilding a felt sense of safety and strength.
This approach can be particularly useful if you've noticed that talk therapy on its own hasn't quite reached everything you're holding — SE partners with the body's natural capacity for repair.
Who this can help
Trauma — whether it stems from one incident or from sustained hardship
Anxiety and ongoing stress
Burnout and a dysregulated nervous system
Unsettling life transitions that have left you feeling off-balance
Feeling "stuck" even after previous therapeutic work
How we'll work together
We'll start with a free 30-minute consultation, giving you space to ask questions and sense whether this approach fits. Sessions afterward move at a pace that feels sustainable — Somatic Experiencing unfolds gradually and collaboratively, never forced.
You might recognise yourself here if:
You overthink or feel anxious more often than not, second-guessing your own judgement
Your confidence shifts suddenly — solid one moment, shaky the next
You've spent years holding things together while carrying weight inside
Your body stays tense, guarded, or shut down, even in calm moments
Burnout has caught up with you — leaving you irritable, depleted, overwhelmed
You're worn out from always being "the strong one"
You feel cut off from your body, your energy, or your sense of self
These experiences often go beyond thought patterns — they can live in the nervous system long after the original stressor or trauma has ended. Somatic Experiencing works gently with these held patterns, guiding your nervous system toward safety and settling, so you can feel more grounded, present, and like yourself again.
"Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence." — Peter Levine

Trauma Therapy (Somatic Experiencing)
You May Be Struggling If…
You overthink, second-guess yourself, or feel anxious more often than not
You feel confident one moment and diminished the next
You've spent years being capable and responsible while feeling heavy inside
Your body feels tense, braced, or shut down — even when nothing is "wrong"
You feel like burnout has finally caught up with you — irritable, exhausted, overwhelmed
You're exhausted from being "the strong one"
You feel disconnected from your body, your vitality, or who you are underneath it all
These patterns often aren't just "in your head" — they can be held in the nervous system, sometimes long after the original stress or trauma has passed. Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach that works gently with these patterns, helping your nervous system find safety and settle, so you can feel more grounded, present, and like yourself again
